Big names, booming basslines, a boutique festival in a bull field…it can only mean one thing… Moovin Festival, is a music lover’s mix of bass, funk, soul, reggae, house and D&B to get you dancing until the cows come home.
Starting in 2014, with the obligatory break in 2020 (we don’t talk about 2020), it is now in its tenth year. From humble beginnings, the small cow-barn party that started with a few hundred people has organically grown and has now well and truly established itself as THE place to party on August bank holiday weekend.
Not far from Manchester, yet feeling like another world, Moovin takes place at the eco-friendly Whitebottom farm in the stunning countryside of Etherow Country Park in Compstall.
“At the bottom of a tree-lined valley, a hay barn with a fat sound system. A freewheeling crowd, no VIP red ropes, no hassle from the authorities, just music and good vibes” 90s free party? No. Moovin’ festival, Manchester, .” – GROOVE ARMADA
Whilst the lineups are big the capacity is limited to keep it friendly and personal, as we feel this is what makes our little festival special. The vibe is really friendly, we know of many people who have met on the Friday, and by the Monday are friends for life; marriage, and even a baby, have resulted from Moovin meets, and we do feel this is in part due to its compact and intimate vibe.
“Moovin Festival was my highlight of the Summer. The Great Vibes, Music, Venue, the perfect organisation and all these Beautiful people made this Festival become my Favourite Worldwide” – LEE SCRATCH PERRY
Independent throughout, with a counter-cultural feel and a devotion to booking the freshest acts and performers, Moovin Festival is a laid-back way to catch an eclectic mix of favourite acts as well as exciting new artists. It’s about making new mates and discovering a diverse array of quirky bands, local talent, drumming outfits and deep-digging DJs from across the musical spectrum; it’s a place to enjoy ethically sourced foods and cocktails and to try some holistic healing treatments. With walkabout performers, fire shows, morning gong baths, yoga classes and a refreshing attention to details only touching the surface, there is a whole lot more to explore and a unique free-spirited vibe at this party that you just can’t quite put your finger on. Moovin Festival really is like no udder!
So get Moovin, get your tickets and see you in the fields!
